Hoardsmas 2014: S.K.I.P: Strategic Kangaroo Impact Patrol (Huggingtons Twisted Toys) / Thrashor (8-Bit Zombie)

Hoardsmas looks a lot more like a present swapping pictorial in 2014.

I can't believe it's that time of year again. Yet, it is. It's HOARDSMAS. We've covered the day itself at least two times before in 2012 and 2013 as well as Hoardsmas themed articles you may care to read (or re-read) about He-man, Power Lords, Super Powers, Dear Santy Letters and Holiday Listicles.

Despite all this, you'd be surprised at how many letters we get every day asking us about HOARDSMAS.

Predominantly stuff like "What is it?" and "Isn't it just Christmas?" or "How do I celebrate it? I need to know for my lifestyle."

So let me clarify it all for you, right now, once and for all, and for those playing along at home.

HOARDSMAS is about buying material possessions you absolutely don't need and giving them to people you mostly like (and occasionally people you only tolerate), under the guise of a magical creature is the one actually giving it to them. You may NOT take credit for these presents. The magical Hoardo Beast dropped them at your recipient's house for funsies! Don't mess this part up or you'll ruin hopes and dreams.

HOARDSMAS occurs whenever Hoardax can be bothered taking photos of the event. Sometimes this coincidentally lands on your planet's "Christmas Day." Often, not.

HOARDSMAS is about including everybody (regardless of denomination) in something most people can bond over: Alcoholism and Consumerism. If done correctly it can be a fun time for all.

I may or may not be drinking Egg Nog as I write this.

Please commit Hoardsmas responsibly.

But don't forget the most important aspect of HOARDSMAS!

After the magical Hoardo Beast gives you your material possessions, you have to briefly look at your new gifts with unbridled awe and a sense of satisfaction, before putting them in a box and not looking at them again for years.

Rinse. Repeat.

Do this for long enough and you too can have an area in your very own headquarters that gives you anxiety when you walk in there.

Now, that's the true spirit of Hoardsmas!

HOARDSMAS SEASONS GREETINGS 2013 aka THE HOARD IS FAMILY!

There hasn't been a family reunion like this since Darkseid moved to Apokolips, Hordak got stuck in Despondos and I moved to HOARD WORLD. First HOARDSMAS we've spent together in a long time albeit Hordak has turned up as GhostDak and projected himself here. You know, kinda like Skype. On a side note, Grizzlor loved the Predator Doll that Leech gave him for HOARDSMAS. And Zodac has fallen in love with his chocolate bar. 'nuff said.

Disclaimer: HOARD WORLD does not promote, condone or encourage any of the alcohol varieties that appear in the following photos. Please drink responsibly.

You should know that HOARDSMAS isn't Christmas.

TOP 5 WAYS YOU CAN TELL IT'S THE HOLIDAYS aka IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE HOARDSMAS.......

You can tell it's getting to be some sort of Holiday Period when stuff like this awesome Kirby-inspired Art by Michael Cho starts turning up and getting re-posted all over the internets.

It's been far too long since I've cracked open this blog and writ in it. It got quite dusty in the time I've been away. There was now a family of Spidermans (pronounced 'Spee-dur-man') living inside it, some of the plastic had begun to yellow, and the electricity had been disconnected.

SEASONS GREETINGS FROM HOARD WORLD!

Everybody loves LOG from Blammo! for Hoardsmas.
It's Big! It's Heavy! It's Wood! It's LOG! LOG! It's better than bad, it's good!
(The only LOG commercial I could find on YouTube was German. Just replace the word "Klotz" with "LOG" and it's pretty much the same. Unless you're German, in which case...as you were.)

DEAR SANTY: A HOARDSMAS WISHLIST.

I was already planning a Christmas Wishlist episode here on Hoard World but upon recently discovering the existence of The League Of Extraordinary Bloggers, it seemed even more worthwhile!

The League was created and spearheaded earlier this year by Brian over at the website Cool And Collected to basically spread the blogging love by sharing a topic across as many participating websites as possible each week. Imagine that! A whole host of independent blogs coming together and uniting with different takes on the one topic! Then, they all link to each other's entries - increasing traffic, exposing new readers and growing the community!

Giving and sharing is supposed to be what Christmas is all about so I can think of no better time than now to join The League Of Extraordinary Bloggers with my own take on this week's assignment: Wishlists.

"The big guy is on his way! What's on your Christmas wish list this year?"

WE MUST ISSUE A RARE *SPOILER* ALERT FOR THOSE WHO CAN STILL ENJOY CHRISTMAS.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

SUPER POWERS! GALAXY WARRIORS! MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE! IMPERIAL BEASTS? THE VERY FIRST HOARD WORLD PHOTO!

From left to right: Hawkman and Green Lantern leaning on Panthor. The Flash and Wonder Woman leaning on a two-headed (Imperial?) dinosaur being ridden by Galaxy Warrior Dragoon. Aquaman and Batman leaning on another two-headed (Imperial?) dinosaur being ridden by Superman.

On the blah-blah day of Hoardsmas* my pal Hoardax showed to me:

A scanned-in photo of the distant past!

Welcome BACK to the Virtual Toy Chest Of Hoardsmas Past.

For Those Who Came In Late...........

.............we have done this particular sort of blog post two times already now. You can see them here and here if you haven't already.

And now for the final time (we sadly have no more 80s Christmas Photos after this!) we present to you a Hoardsmas: 1980s Fable - featuring the very first photo-documented mash-up of toy lines on Hoard World and a child-like Hoardax's actual Christmas Past!

I need only look back at a photo like this to realise that I was always going to end up the way I am today.

HOW HE-MAN RUINED MY LIFE.

On the 7th day of Hoardsmas* my pal Hoardax showed to me:

A scanned-in photo of the distant past!

Welcome BACK to the Virtual Toy Chest Of Hoardsmas Past.

For Those Who Came In Late...........

.............we did a previous entry very similar to the one you're currently reading RIGHT here.

Now here's another Hoardsmas: 1980s Fable featuring Castle Grayskull and a child-like Hoardax's actual Christmas Past!

I can't quite imagine exactly what it must've been like to be playing with Castle Grayskull on Christmas Day.

I HAVE THE POWER [LORDS] !

On the 12th day of Hoardsmas, my pal Hoardax showed to me:

A scanned-in photo of the distant past.

Sing it! Sing along now if you know the words!

Don't.

Seriously. No! Don't!

Stop. Stop it.

Welcome to the Virtual Toy Chest Of Hoardsmas Past.

As regular Hoard Worlders will duly note, Hoardax is a creature of mystery. Rarely seen in public and more recently, barely even seen ONLINE - only a select few of the legions of Hoard Worlders worldwide even know what Hoardax looks like to the naked eye!

To preserve his identity, we had considered using state of the art photo-editing technology to alter Hoardax's childhood face or perhaps replace it with a cartoon version of  Hordak who was 15% different to avoid copyright, but NO!

That all just felt too much like effort.

Effort that could be better spent talking about the POWER LORDS.

And now, without any further ado: Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's Hoardax!

The following passage was taken straight from his upcoming, as-yet unfinished memoir I've Collected Toys My Entire Life And All I Got Is This Ridiculous Amount Of Stuff Everywhere AND This Stupid T-shirt. Due Summer 2056! Look for it in all good book stores if they still exist!

I can still remember the first time I saw Adam Power.

Heck, I have a photo of me the first time I ever saw Adam Power just in case I forget.
